You and I Need Each Other for a Healthy Life

Today I was stuck trying to think about what to write that would include the word you. It just happened to be the prompt for the #5MFW #write31days. My son helped me think about how the words you and me go together. I needed to tie it in with my theme of a healthier life.

You with me on journey

You and I need each other to encourage and to push when push is needed. We remind each other that we are not alone. I have committed to writing for 31 days, each day bringing me closer to building habits that lead to a healthy life. [bctt tweet=”You, my friends who read and comment, inspire and give me courage to stay the course.” username=”GaylWright”]

In keeping with the idea of community and a healthy lifestyle I can’t leave out the me and you relationship with my family members. We cook food together, take walks and play games, pray for and with each other and let love lead us.[bctt tweet=”Healthy habits include spending time doing things with others.” username=”GaylWright”]

Today I went outside with my son who now has a wheelchair that will ride across the gravel driveway. He enjoyed spending more time outside where he could have freedom to go off the porch. Not only were we able to enjoy the sunshine and wind, but we had tea and a good discussion.

Earlier in the week there was you and me time with my granddaughter, Lacey. She is working on a project for school where she had to interview someone. Then she was to make a scrapbook of their life. I was honored that she chose me.[bctt tweet=”It was fun working with her, and to see her enthusiasm. ” username=”GaylWright”]What I didn’t realize before was that she thought the two of us were a lot alike. What a blessing and an encouragement she is to me!

Exercise and Prayer Time

One habit I’m trying to establish is a prayer time each morning right after breakfast. Today was my first day, and just as I started I was interrupted by a message on my phone. I checked it and realized I needed wisdom to know how to respond. So I went back to my prayer journal and continued to pray.[bctt tweet=”God answered and the conversation was fruitful.” username=”GaylWright”]

My exercise for today was a brisk walk. It was a beautiful day to be out in God’s creation. I started out praying as I walked, but then I was caught up in the beauty and the fresh air and began taking pictures.

  1. Oh, what a sweet picture with your Granddaughter, and what a legacy your are creating for her! I agree with you that we need each other’s help and inspiration along the way, to keep our focus moving forward. You are an inspiration to me, to keep looking for ways to balance healthy self-care! And I love your pictures again today! –Blessings to you!

    1. Thank you, Bettie! Yes, she’s a sweetheart. We enjoy doing art journal pages together. 🙂

I’m so glad to be an inspiration to you! That makes me happy. 🙂 Glad you enjoyed the pictures.

You are also an encouragement and inspiration to me. Thank you for being here. Many blessings to you!

  2. We all need encouragement in our goals for a healthier life. I really need a buddy to encourage me too to exercise, read my Bible, and eat healthier. Thank you so much for sharing. I am praying for special blessings as you complete the Write 31 Day Challenge.

    1. Yes, it’s hard to do it alone. I find it a struggle, too, which is why I wanted to write about it this month. I figured it would help me be more accountable.

Maybe we can encourage each other. Thank you so much for the prayers. I really appreciate your friendship!

Many blessings to you as you continue with your wonderful series! Hope we can get together again before too long. 🙂

  3. Gayl, I love the photos you’ve shared and the picture you’ve painted of being in community as a place where we support, encourage and help strengthen one another. So true! And I think that “caught up in the beauty” of creation is rather like a prayer of praise and thanksgiving. So no interruption, more of a continuation of your time with God. xo <3

    1. Joy, I love the way to liken the enjoyment of creation beauty to a prayer of praise and thanksgiving. So you’re right, it was a continuation! Thanks for pointing that out. Glad you enjoyed the photos!

Community is so important. It might be hard sometimes when we just want to stay in our own little shell, but we need each other.

Many blessings to you dear Joy!

  4. You are so right, Gayl! Let me take a moment to tell you thanks for often being that person for me when you have taken time to read a post and leave a comment. Some days I read posts and just don’t get around to doing that, but I know how much it does bless the other person. You have often been one of those for me. Thanks!

    1. Thank you, Pam! I’m glad I have encouraged you. You’ve also been an encouragement to me. I need to come visit your blog again. 🙂

I don’t always comment, either. Sometimes I don’t have time to think about what to say and I don’t want to just write anything. I like to respond to what I read.

      Many blessings to you! 🙂
