Happy, Alive, Beautiful and Free: A Butterfly Haiku

HAPPY BUTTERFLY HAIKU

Today is Haiku Poetry Day. In honor of that I spent some time with the online Magnetic Poetry kit. It’s a lot of fun using the magnetic poetry kit. Using one of my photos as a guide I wrote a haiku about a happy butterfly. Nature is always inspiring to me as I observe the beauty of God’s creation.

A POETRY E-BOOK

Faithful Bloggers is a group I belong to on Facebook. To celebrate Haiku Poetry Day the leaders challenged us to submit some poetry with a Christian emphasis to be included in a free e-book. If you read my blog you’ll know that I love to write haiku. I couldn’t pass up the challenge. The book features some of my poems along with twenty-one others.

I hope you will take a look and download this lovely book. Just click on the link below. I think the offerings there will inspire you.

**It is available for free***

    1. Thank you, Amy! I’m glad you participated, too. I just went back to read yours and it’s so full of truth! I love how you expressed the powerful love of God in so few words.

Blessings to you! Have a great week!

    1. Oh, Rebecca, I’m sorry you missed the challenge. But you can still write and share in other places. 🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Blessings to you!

  1. Dear Gayl,
I love your Haiku, especially since Butterflies hold special meaning for me! I needed to be reminded of them today–God is so good to bring us just the word that we need. Congratulations on sharing your work for National Haiku Day with other Christian Bloggers! You are such an inspiration to me, Dear Friend! xoxo

    1. Thank you so much, Bettie! I didn’t realize butterflies held a special meaning for you, though I should have because you use them often. 🙂

I’m so glad you enjoyed the haiku and thank you for your continued encouragement to me.

Many blessings with love and hugs! xoxo

  2. Dear Gayl, what a beautiful butterfly haiku this is! Butterflies are such a wonderful symbol of hope, joy and freedom for me. Thank you for sharing your poetic art and for letting us know about the haiku collection you have contributed to. Well done, you! How did I miss it being National Haiku Day? The same way I miss so much through my limited time online, I guess. Blessings of rest, hope and freedom to you, sweet friend. 🙂 xoxo

    1. Oh, Joy, thank you so much! I’m glad you like it. Yes, I don’t know if I would have known about the Haiku Poetry Day if I had not been in this other group that was publishing the ebook.

Blessings and love to you, dear friend! xoxo

  3. I love butterflies. I hope to one day publish my children’s story about a whimsical butterfly. 🙂 Thanks for sharing your poems at Literacy Musing Mondays!

  4. Gayl – is the butterfly picture one you took? it is so pretty – and so is the Haiku – sweetly rings with a softness, much like a butterfly’s wings 🙂 Thank you for linking up with #TuneInThursday today! I am so blessed to have you linking up your posts as part of the community.

    1. Debbie – yes, it is one I took while walking outside one day. The butterfly was just resting there in the grass and I used the zoom to get in a little closer. Thank you so much for your comments. I appreciate your enouragement.

I love linking up with your community! Thanks for hosting.

      Blessings to you!
