ADVENTURES AWAIT
It has been awhile since I participated, but Kat Myrman has continued her weekly Twittering Tales. She provides a photo and we write a story or poem with 140 characters or less. These are great fun and sometimes very challenging. You are welcome to check it out and join in. I have three stories, each slightly different, but all involve life adventures for the characters. You can use your own imagination to fill in the details for each story. Adventures await!
No Turning Back
No turning back now
We said our goodbyes and left
Never to return
Oh, how they pleaded
The danger will be too great
Our minds were made up

A SAD DEPARTURE
The lights of the town faded as we pulled farther away.
The fire had destroyed everything. With tears in our eyes we drove into the unknown.
(140 characters)
A NEW ADVENTURE
Everyone cheered and wished us well. Leaving the city
behind us, we headed out for the adventure of a lifetime! What secrets would we find?

LIFE IS FULL OF ADVENTURES
We may not be facing a big move or a trip to a remote village or an extended stay away from home, but there is adventure on this journey of life. There is often a mixture of joy and pain, excitement, disappointment, peace, anxiety, and I could go on.
Maybe you are in a difficult time right now, and you don’t know where the road will lead. You need to know you are not alone. Because life is full of surprises, we need to walk alongside each other and look for ways to help. We were not meant to live in isolation but in community.
Whatever adventure we find as we travel through our daily lives, we need to remember that God is with us, and he knows the way. He sometimes works behind the scenes, but to us it may seem he has deserted us. Even if we don’t sense his Presence, we can still cry out in our pain.
(Psalm 36:5-9)
Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.
Your righteousness is like the highest mountains, your justice like the great deep.
You, Lord, preserve both people and animals.
How priceless is your unfailing love, O God!People take refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights.
For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.

You did Gayl! And not just one but three Twitter tales! Bravo! But I was particularly touched by your essay. What a blessing you are! Thank you! ❤️
Thanks for your encouragement, Kat! I guess I just like to have more than one story for the Twittering Tales. 🙂
Aw, I’m glad you were touched by the essay and thank you for your sweet comment.
Blessings and hugs! xo
And blessings to you! ?
Gayl – love all your short 144 character stories – how fun… I am a little wordy so I am not sure how well I would do with keeping to the limit, but I may have to try one day. I really liked your reminder at the end that no matter where we go, He goes with us, and He knows the way. I am your neighbor today at #TellHisStory
Thank, Debbie! I’m glad you enjoyed them. You should try it sometime. You might just enjoy it! 🙂
Yes, He is always with us and that is a comfort no matter where life takes us.
Blessings to you!
Gayl – I may indeed have to try it sometime. I used to write poetry when I was younger… so maybe, just maybe I could remember how. LOL Thank you for linking up with #TuneInThursday today! I am so blessed to have you linking up your posts as part of the community.
I hope you do try it, Debbie. It’s pretty fun to do.
Blessings!
Dear Gayl,
Thank you for sharing these thoughts tonight that are so encouraging as I think and pray for my younger son and his family who are preparing to move. It is a huge move for them, as they will be joining with a missions agency. Isn’t it amazing that our Lord knows how to stir up our hearts to follow Him on a new adventure? I am so grateful that His leading is always the best! Blessings, Love and Hugs to you!
Dear Bettie,
Thank you for reading and commenting. You always encourage me. Wow, that does sound like a really big move for your son. I pray that all will go well.
Yes, I love how He stirs our hearts and am also grateful for His leading. Blessings, love and hugs to you, too, dear friend! xoxo
Yes: “You need to know you are not alone. Because life is full of surprises, we need to walk alongside each other and look for ways to help. We were not meant to live in isolation but in community.”
Thanks, Tara. We need to remind ourselves often that we are not alone and work to help each other.
Blessings to you!
Great “nutshell” stories and a poem too. Well done! I’m delighted to have found you!
Thank you for your encouragement, Bette! I’m glad you stopped by. I need to take a look at more of your work. 🙂 Glad to have found you, too!
Wow, I love your first Twittering Tale!
Melissa, thank you so much! I enjoyed writing it.
Blessings to you!
I love them all and this exercise! Visiting from Tune in Thursday linky party.
Thanks so much, April! The Twittering Tales is open to anyone to join in. Maybe you’d like to consider it sometime. The photo is posted on Tuesday and you have a week to write your own.
Hope you have a blessed day! Thanks for visiting.
And… even when we don’t sense His presence, we can be confident that He is still there! Thanks for your post!
Thanks for stopping by, Karen. Yes, He’s always there and will give wisdom and grace and peace….
Blessings to you!
God is with us, and He knows the way… clinging to that truth today, friend. And dare I say, He’s making the way! Standing on the promise of Him today! Always uplifting when I get to visit your blog, m’dear! Blessings bigger than big for your week!
Yes, He does make the way even when we can’t see it. So glad to have encouraged you today!
Many blessings to you, too!
Dear Gayl, these are terrific Twittering Tales! I love them all. They leave the reader wanting to know what happened next.Though you may not have participated in the challenge for some time, you’ve lost none of your ability to tell a fine flash fiction tale (or three!). You’ve also inspired me to consider giving it another go myself, because it’s been weeks since I’ve been able to join in. Thank you, lovely creative friend! Blessings and hugs to you. xoxo
Thanks, Joy! I really enjoyed writing them. I hope you do give it another go. I’m sure the inspiration will come again. 🙂
Have a lovely weekend!
Many blessings to you with much love! xoxo
