Nature Joins to Worship God

Welcome to my first post for #write31days and 31 Days of Five Minute Friday Free Writes! Worship is the word prompt which fits in nicely with my nature theme. Each day I will share a photo and haiku.

God is the great Creator of all things.

When I take time to look around I see beauty in creation. Sure, some of it is spoiled, but it still points to the glory of God. It also is a demonstration of His love. All this is created for our enjoyment.

We have spent the last two weeks at a house on Long Lake in Bridgton, Maine. My husband’s brother generously opened his home to us, and we are grateful. Every day I took time to sit by the lake to enjoy the view and relax. It gave me time to think, to write in my journal and to pray.

All nature speaks of God

Join with Nature to Worship God

Sparkles on the lake
Sunshine, blue sky, clouds and trees
All creation sings

My heart overflows
Nature speaks of God’s great love
I bow in worship

This video is from our last morning at the lake. I love how the sunlight sparkles on the water.

I hope you can find time to get outside and look for some beauty in nature today.Maybe it will aid you in your worship. It might inspire you to write a poem or prayer or take a photo. May God bless you today!

Thanks for visiting, and as always I’d love to hear from you in the comments section.

    1. Thanks so much, Karen! I glad you enjoyed it. Today we are on our second day of travel back to SC. I’ll have to wait till tonight to read and comment on yours and others.

Thanks for your encouragement! Many blessings to you!

  1. Wow, how beautiful, tranquil and inspiring! Such a great place to relax, think, pray and write. Gayl, I love the wonderful views you have shared with us and the worshipful haiku you have written, and am delighted you and I are sharing this #write31days journey together. Here’s to creativity and inspiration arriving just when we need it! May you be strengthened and equipped for the busy writing days ahead. Blessings, love and hugs! xo 😊💜

    1. Dear Joy, Thank you so much! I’m glad you have been enjoying the views. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. It makes me happy, too, that we are both sharing haiku. Susan Shipe is also doing haiku sharing on Instagram. 🙂

Yes, may we be creative and inspired, and may God be glorified! I pray for strength, too, as we embark on this writing journey. I was thinking of not doing the 31 days, but then I thought haiku would be fun and might encourage others. So here I am. 🙂

Blessings, love and hugs right back to you, dear Joy! xo

  2. Dear Gayl,
I love this first Haiku for October! Your photos and words from the lake have indeed inspired me to get out and see our little lake before the cold weather sets in, and I’ve missed my chance. Those sparkling rays of sun reflected on the water truly do feel like a kind of singing when you are standing there next to it! Have safe travels home today my friend! Hugs & Love! xoxo

    1. Dear Bettie, Thank you so much! I’m glad you were inspired but sorry you missed your chance for the lake, but you can look forward to seeing it in the spring! 🙂

I love the way you describe the rays on the water as a kind of singing. I think that is an apt description!

God did indeed protect us on our trip. Much love and hugs to you, dear Bettie! xo

  3. One of my fave places is the Bible camp I worked at for many years. It’s right off Lake Sakakawea. The water glistens there too. 🙂

    1. It’s pretty cool how God makes beauty everywhere and even when we don’t live close we can still enjoy some of the same kinds of beauty, like sun on the lake.. 🙂

      Blessings to you, Tara! xo

  4. I love your poems and how you can capture the beauty of nature in your words. Can’t wait to join you on this 31 Day adventure!

    1. Thanks, Susan! I”m glad you’ve enjoyed them. I’m so happy you are also doing haiku for the write 31 days! Joy Lenton is writing haiku, too. I’m looking forward to reading your contributions!

Blessings and love and hugs! xoxo

    1. Oh, me too, Mary. When I looked out the window and saw the light reflections dancing on the water I knew I had to take a video. I agree, too, that we really need light and beauty today. May we be able to spread some of that light as beauty as we write and share on our blogs.

Blessings to you! With love and hugs! xoxo

    1. Thank you so much, Kirstin! Glad to have you along! We just got back from a 2 week vacation, so I may be a little slow at getting to other blogs, but I’m looking forward to seeing what is out there for this Write 31 Days!

      Blessings to you!

  5. This speaks to my heart, Gayl. My husband and I go out into nature frequently, to hike, kayak and just be still with God. His creation so speaks to me of His majesty and glory. I love that you share it so beautifully in your haiku and photography.

    1. Thank you, Linda! I’m glad it speaks to you. 🙂 I love being out in creation. It definitely speaks of God’s majesty and glory and so much more. 🙂 Thank you for your encouragement!

      Blessings to you!
