Welcome to Day 4 of #write31days! The Five Minute Friday Free Writes prompt is the word hope. Since the beginning, when God separated the light from the darkness, we have had day and night. He put the sun, moon and stars in place, and they continue to do their jobs day after day.
This brings comfort and hope, knowing that God is still in control.

What majesty and grandeur our God provides for us!
I look at the beauty and the continuous daily cycles and I know my hope is not in vain. It is rooted in Christ and is sure. While composing the haiku for today, I couldn’t stop with just one stanza.
Finding Hope in God’s Handiwork
Sunlight’s fingers glow
Lake reflects the looming clouds
Mingling with the trees
Beauty meets my eyes
Colors purple, pink and blue
In the evening sky
Twilight hovers near
Darkness throws her blanket round
Lending time for sleep
After night comes dawn
Daytime always reappears
Bringing rays of hope

After the flood, this was part of God’s promise to Noah:
As long as the earth endures,
seedtime and harvest,
cold and heat,
summer and winter,
day and night
will never cease.

After the night the morning comes with rays of hope. I love how you wrote that. Sometimes the darkness seems to envelop everything, but there is hope in the morning.
Thanks, Amanda! Yes, there is always hope even when everything seems dark.
Blessings to you! xo
Beautiful photos and sentiments, Gayl. 🙂
Thank you so much, Bette! Blessings to you! xo
Gayl, anyone that writes poetry blesses me. I occasionally can write a line that rhymes. Thank you, my friend. Diana

Amen to these words: “I look at the beauty and the continuous daily cycles and I know my hope is not in vain. It is rooted in Christ and is sure”! Thank you, Gayl, for yet another feast for eye, heart and soul. Love the haiku vignette! Blessings and love. xoxo <3

Dear Gayl,
All of this is beautiful! But I think this stanza is my favorite today:
Twilight hovers near
Darkness throws her blanket round
Lending time for sleep
What a peaceful feeling your words bring! I think I will try to read this again tonight, before I lie down! Thanks for sharing the beauty you found! xoxo
Dear Bettie,
Thank you so much for this encouragement! I’m glad the words brought peace to you. May you have peaceful sleep tonight.
Blessings to you! Love and hugs, dear sister! xoxo
Our poetry offerings are growing, aren’t they? There’s a little Longfellow in all of us!
I’m so glad you’re doing poetry, too, Susan! It’s fun, isn’t it? Of course it can also be challenging. I’m still working on my post for Day 5. 🙂
Blessings to you! xoxo
I love the subtle rainbows in the sunburst. It’s such a visible reminder of God’s promises to us. Blessings to you.
That’s a great observation, Jaynre! Yes, and His promises never fail.
Blessings to you, too! Thanks for visiting!
