Welcome to Day 6 of #write31days. The Five Minute Friday prompt is the word story. My story began in Meridian, Mississippi, nearly 65 years ago when my mother gave birth to me early in the morning.
Since then I have lived in many places in the USA.
From Mississippi to Florida to New Hampshire, then back to Florida. After that to South Dakota, New Jersey and finally to South Carolina.
My story is not complete without my husband, children, grandchildren and all our friends and relatives. Every place we lived and every person we met have all contributed to who I am today.
I have a zeal for life and a desire to encourage everyone I meet.
My story must also include trees and sky, wind and rain, beaches, lakes and mountains. Nature is my happy place. I love the outdoors.
Spending time in the woods or by a lake I find so much inspiration.
Nature in My Story
Nature plays a part
In my own special story
Bringing me much joy
Trees, sky, wind and rain
Beaches, lakes, woods and mountains
Beautiful and free
Through sights and sounds like
Falling leaves and singing birds
Inspiration comes
Writing, music, art
Cooking food and living life
In creative ways
May I live each day
Filled with grace, truth and purpose
Rooted in God’s love
As my life goes on
May my words encourage you
And give praise to God

Lovely poem, Gayl! 🙂 xo
Thank you so much, Bette! Blessings to you! xo
Dear Gayl,
Wow! You have lived in a wide variety of places! But I love that line “Rooted in God’s love” because it shows through all of your words and photos, that HE is the steady place for all that you’ve seen. Thank you so much for sharing that beauty here with us. Love & Hugs! xoxo
Yes, my husband taught in Christian schools that closed down so we moved around. His motto was, “Teach in a Christian school and see the USA!” Yes, God is the steady place for me. Thanks for your encouragement.
Blessings to you, dear Bettie, with lots of love and hugs! xoxo
Thanks for sharing your story Gayl and the pictures too!! I love being outside! It is my happy place too.
Thanks for visiting, Char! I think I’ve always loved the outdoors!
Blessings to you!
