MEMORIES REMAIN
Welcome to Day 15 of #write31days. The Five Minute Friday Free Writes prompt is the word remain. Have you ever been to a place where you wish you could stay and never leave? Our trip to the lake in Maine last month is one of the highlights of our year. Whatever happens, the memories remain.
If I could I would love to remain at that house on the lake. Of course, I might have a different idea once the winter set in with all the snow and cold.
I loved the quiet times. Sitting by the lake with my journal and a cup of tea was so relaxing. There was always the sound of the water lapping along the shore. I think I could remain there all day.

ALWAYS SOMETHING TO SEE
It was mostly peaceful and there was always something to see on the lake.
Sometimes there were people skiing and sometimes it was quiet. There might be a sailboat or someone in a kayak or a big pontoon boat. We had a lovely ride in a pontoon, stopped at a tie up across the lake, bought pizza and ate it right there on the boat. They even got my son’s wheelchair aboard.
We could find anything we needed in the nearby towns of Bridgton or Harrison.
There was one special treat which we remembered from five years ago when we were there before. Not more than five minutes away in Harrison, was High View Farm.

Their milk is the best I have ever tasted. From Guernsey and Jersey cows they sell fresh, raw milk in glass jars. Using the honor system, people could come and purchase milk, meat, eggs, yogurt and more in the farm store. We would buy the milk, then leave a deposit for the jars until we brought them back for more. They even had some hand woven baskets from Ghana.
