Darkness is Always Dispelled By Light

Welcome to Day 22 of #write31days. Light is the Five Minute Friday Free Writes prompt word. Darkness cannot stay around when the light appears. Today I will share a new haiku and some older ones that fit well with this theme.

Genesis 1:16-18 (NIV)
God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day

and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars.

God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth,

to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness.

And God saw that it was good.

Darkness dispelled by light

God, I want my life

Like the moon reflects the sun

To reflect Your Son

John 8:12 (NIV)

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said,

I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me

will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

  1. Such a beautiful comfort to know that when the light shines into our darkness, the darkness has no power to extinguish it! Thank you for your faithfulness and encouragement, Gayl. God bless you!

  2. Amen, keep on shining, sister! Thank you for the Light you reflect in all you write. Jesus is honoured here. Blessings, love and hugs to you, Gayl! xoxo 💜
