Capture Moments with Words, Photos and Art

CAPTURE MOMENTS

The first thing that comes to mind for me when I hear the word capture is not a negative connotation. I guess because I think of it in terms of my life and work.

I love to go outdoors and spend time in the quiet listening and watching.

It inspires me and I want to capture what I find with my words, photos and art.

The title of my blog is Words, Photos, and Art, because I like to use my blog to share what I have captured. Using my camera or phone I capture the moments so I will remember.

Sometimes I write a poem, because the surroundings inspire me.

Using my art journal, I find photos that appeal to me. Sometimes as I read the Bible and pray, I work in my art journal to help express my thoughts.

The following page was one of my first back in 2014. I love the beautiful flowers and the tables and chairs surrounded by the outdoors.

Often, I use words cut from magazines to form a found poem on the page.

This was my first found poem. The words are cut out of an old book.

Whenever I am outdoors or see beautiful photos of nature, it makes me want to praise God.]

This is my prayer for each of us:

Ephesian 1:18-19

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that you may know what is the hope of his calling, what is the wealth of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the mighty working of his strength.

This is Day 25 of the Five Minute Friday 31 Days of Free Writes. The word prompt is capture.

  1. Dear Gayl,
I agree with Tara, that I love the ways that you capture heart feelings Gayl! And the progression of your poem shows the way that God moves us from sitting and listening into wonder and worship. He truly does capture our hearts, as we become aware and long to capture His beauty that we see around us. Blessings, love and hugs to you Dear Friend! xoxo

  2. Dear Gayl, your captures in images and words are truly lovely. They encourage me to praise, listen, linger, wonder and worship. I sense a loving, gentle, sensitive and appreciative spirit in you, which beautifully brings forth the joy of the Lord. Thank you for inspiring me. I just need a few dozen magazines, or old photographs, and a scrapbook to get me started! 🙂 xo

    1. Thank you, dear Joy. I’m so glad they encourage you! Oh, I’m sure you would love the art journaling as much as I do. 🙂 It’s so fun and relaxing and helps express my thoughts and feelings. Blessings, love and hugs to you! xoxo
