SUPPOSE THE WORLD WERE DIFFERENT
What do you suppose the world would be like if there were no colors or light or water or resources of any kind? Let’s take a journey using our imaginations to picture a different sort of world.
Suppose the World were Different
Suppose the world were dull and gray
No colors for variety
No daffodils or purple sage
Or rainbows there to grace the sky
Suppose the rain were not to fall
No water to replenish lakes
No nourishment for thirsty lands
Or respite from the sun’s great heat
Suppose the sun refused to shine
No light to brighten up the day
No benefits to bolster health
Or warming rays to beat the chill
Suppose the world were on its own
No people could survive for long
No resources to stabilize
Or loving God to give it life

I’m glad our world is not left on its own. In the Bible we read a totally different story than the one imagined in the poem.
Genesis 1:26-27 (CSB)
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness.
They will rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the livestock, the whole earth,
and the creatures that crawl on the earth.
So God created man in his own image; he created him in the image of God; he created them male and female.
We do have a loving God who created everything and sustains it by His power.
Colossians 1:16-17 (CSB)
For everything was created by him,
in heaven and on earth,
the visible and the invisible,
whether thrones or dominions
or rulers or authorities—
all things have been created through him and for him.
He is before all things, and by him all things hold together.

Dear Gayl,
Thank you for this powerful post! Our God is so mighty, and He has created such amazing life for us. Sometimes we need to step back and picture how this world would be if He were not so full of grace towards us. Your beautiful images and words bring such a deep praise to my heart today. Thank you Dear Friend! xoxo
Dear Bettie,
I’m glad to have helped to stir up praise for you! Yes, our God is mighty, yet He also loves beauty and attention to details and He loves us! Blessings, love and hugs to you, dear sister! xoxo
A world without the creations of God is not a world I want to know. He provides many blessings for us to enjoy and for us to care for. 🙂 I am so very thankful for His creations. Have a blessed week!
I totally agree with you, Melissa. I don’t want a world without God and His creation. I’m also very grateful for His creations. Blessings to you!
Grateful… Amen! Have a lovely week, Gayl. <3

It is a bit humbling to think that our planet is the only one of it kind in all the universe, and that God have chosen us to dwell here. Beautiful post!
Yes, it is humbling, isn’t it? He made the world a place where we could live, and not other place will do. Blessings to you, Carrie! Thanks for visiting.
I’m so thankful for color! And how I take it for granted. Thanks for pointing out that things could have been very different….
Oh, me too, Lisa. What would we do without color? 🙂 It helps to stop and think about how things might have been and then appreciate all the more what beauty He created. Blessings to you, Lisa!
