World: So Much Beauty and Diversity

World is the prompt word for Five Minute Friday this week. What do you think of when you see or hear that word? Often, my mind goes to the big round ball we live on, earth. I think of the song He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands.

world

Our God created this earth for us, and though it might have a lot of flaws now it is still a beautiful place. There are so many places with unique beauty. Even in a desert that seems so bare there are flowers growing.

Mountains, lakes, rivers, oceans, prairies, tropical, icy – so many different types of places in the world. I will probably never get a chance to visit lands other than my own, but I know there is beauty.

So many different cultures are represented in the world. We have had the privilege of hosting students from different countries. From them we learned a lot about several different places.

My five minutes are up so I will close with this art journal page. It includes a poem I wrote this afternoon using the online magnetic poetry kit.

A Beautiful World

From nature’s garden

Flowers spring up fresh and full

Blooms to warm the soul

Follow bright sunshine

Walk, watch, breathe, feel the life of

This beautiful world

What about you? What do you think of when you hear the prompt word for this week?

  1. Dear Gayl,
Thank you for sharing these beautiful thoughts about how to pause and look at the world that God created. It is so easy to only focus on the flaws that it has now, but you are so right that there is much beauty to be seen and experienced still. And I am so glad that you included a monarch on today’s art journal page. I needed that reminder of God’s transformations today. Love, blessings, and hugs to you my dear poet/sister/friend! xoxo

    1. Dear Bettie,
I’m so glad you like the post and art page. I love monarchs, too. They are beautiful and are a reminder of transformation. I remember that you love butterflies. Yes, the world is a mess, but there is still beauty. Blessings, love and hugs to you, too, my dear poet/sister/friend! xoxo
