Fresh Air and Sunshine: A Winning Combination

A BREATH OF FRESH AIR

A breath of fresh air is always welcome. Staying inside for long periods of time without changing the air is not healthy. Everyone would benefit every day from time spent outdoors.

Sun is setting on the homestead. Photo taken from about halfway down my driveway.

Sometimes I get so busy with what I’m doing indoors that I forget to pause, let alone get outside. But I find that I feel much better on the days I spend some time walking in nature.

What about when the weather is just too cold? We could try opening a window just a bit and then shut it before it freezes us. Or, if you are able, bundle up well and go out anyway.

When the days are cloudy and breezy and cold, with no sign of sunlight, it’s hard to get motivated. And with few windows, lots of trees, what little light there is doesn’t bring much cheer inside.

But sunny days are my favorites! There is something about the bright sun, the fresh air and the beauty of nature that inspire me. So one of my goals is to spend more time outdoors. Whether sunshine or rain, the air is fresher than indoors. And when I’m able to get out I am always refreshed.

  1. Dear Gayl,
Thank you for the fresh air that you brought here today! I love seeing photos from your place and descriptions of your day there. The sunshine is truly such a gif. The clouds are beginning to lift just a little here, so thank you for the reminder to look up, and find ways to bring in some light. Blessings, love, and hugs to you Dear friend. Xoxo

  2. This is so true. I can hole up in my house thinking it’s just too cold to go outside or it’s too wet. But, it makes such a difference in my mindset to get out there even if just for a few minutes. I have a Russian uncle who always said, “There’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothes.” Bundle up and get the right clothes to get out there 🙂
I’m your FMF friend at #55 this week,

  3. I like your uncle’s thinking! I don’t know why it’s so hard sometimes to convince myself to go outside. It’s always refreshing and I feel so much better afterwards. Thanks for stopping by! Blessings to you!

  4. It always kind of takes me by surprise when I step outside how good a breath of fresh air feels! We had snow in the night and I think I’ll go out to breathe it in!

  5. I love my window cracked open to let the crisp winter air in – but my husband is cold-natured, so he is not a fan! LOL Last weekend after a snow, we went for a hike – and for so many reasons, it was just what we both needed! God’s always there – in a walk, in the hike, in the fresh air in all seasons! BTW – I love your snowflakes! ~ Maryleigh

  6. Sounds like me and my husband. lol A hike after a snow is a fun thing! I remember doing that when we lived in NH. But yes, a hike in any season can be so refreshing! Glad you like my snowflakes. 🙂 Blessings to you!
