Fixing Your Gaze on Jesus Gives Hope for Eternity

Where do you put your focus? Is it on your circumstances or on what you are missing? Are you fixing your gaze on the past or the future or only the present or do you try to see everything at once? Do you look inside yourself to find hope?

Left to ourselves and our thoughts without some outside help can make us feel all alone. If we only think of our circumstances our emotions can be happy or sad, depending on what is happening. Where can we fix our gaze so that we have a more balanced view?

It does help to interact with other people who help us not feel alone. When we realize others share common interests we enjoy their company. We can encourage one another with our words and actions.

But sometimes there is no one around and we feel discouraged and alone. Where do we go then? With all the quarantining and keeping our distance, it can be hard to find the community we need. Social media can help but it doesn’t meet all the needs.

FIXING OUR GAZE ON JESUS

There is One who is always available, who never sleeps but is always watching and keeping the galaxies in place. Yet He is aware of each person. He knows how many hairs are on our heads. Surely, we can find hope by fixing our gaze on Jesus, the One who holds us in His hands.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

    1. Sweet Bettie, I’m so glad the Scripture blessed you and that God was with you during your procedure this morning. Much love to you with hugs and many blessings! xoxo

  2. Amen. God blesses us with human connections some times, but they are not always available and may not understand. But He is always there, knows us thoroughly, and loves us anyway.
