Beautiful Psalter with Spurgeon’s Notes: 7 Features to Love

BEAUTIFUL PSALTER: 7 FEATURES TO LOVE

  • leather-like feel
  • beautiful design
  • compact size
  • satin ribbon marker
  • readable print
  • commentary by Spurgeon
  • blank note pages

Spurgeon and the Psalms is a beautiful new book using the New King James Version of the Bible. This is the book of Psalms in its entirety. In addition, it includes words from Spurgeon to introduce each psalm. These excerpts are from Spurgeon’s original 3 Volume work, The Treasury of David. This beautiful psalter, made of a soft imitation leather also has a blue satin marker ribbon. A lightweight book with gilded pages, it also includes about 20 blank pages at the back to use for your own personal notes.

The inside front and back covers have a picture of the mountains.

The print is a good size, dark enough to read without eyestrain. It also includes footnotes just like in a complete Bible. I love using the Psalms for my devotions. They cover a wide range of emotions, and I sometimes use them as my own prayers when I don’t know what to pray. I love that this beautiful psalter has so many blank pages for notes. Now I can put my responses of poetry, paraphrase or prayers right in the psalter rather than in a separate notebook.

I will cherish this beautiful psalter for years to come. Just the right size to carry along to use as a devotional anytime, anywhere. Spurgeon’s insightful notes give food for thought and are a great help for studying the Psalms.

  1. Thank you for this lovely review, Gayl. It’s so nice to see your own notes that you’ve added in the journaling part of this Psalter. And what a great idea to carry it with you as a Devotional, with the whole book of Psalms right there! Blessings to you, dear friend!
