One way to abide in Christ is to read and meditate on scripture. Because it is the word of God, my mind is enlightened and transformed by it. As I read, meditate and pray I am following the light of the world, Jesus, and learning to abide in Him.
Sometimes, God doesn’t rescue us out of our tumultuous clouds and storms but strengthens us and goes with us through them, giving hope.
How can we be living a life of hope amidst the pain? What if, Instead of letting it rule us, we use it to drive us closer to God?
True hope trusts in the finished work of Jesus on the cross and His resurrection. We rest in the promises of God, knowing that He hears and answers prayer.
If you are feeling overwhelmed, lacking strength and courage, I urge you to turn to God. Spend some time in prayer and in His word, and He will renew your strength. Your circumstances may not change, but God will go with you through them.
Where do you put your hope? Is it in your abilities, your job, your family? What kind of hope is a sure anchor for the soul? Hope in God.
