Meet Gayl

Hello and welcome to my site! I’m glad to meet you, and I hope you find refreshment here.

Nestled near the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in upstate South Carolina is a log house on a hill. It’s been our home for over 18 years after living in various parts of the United States. I’ve been married to Steve for 43 years and we raised 7 children. We now have 14 grandchildren  – 8 boys and 6 girls!

I’ve been blogging for a little over 4 years, starting out very cautiously with a blogger account, but I’m stepping out to spread my wings and become more serious about moving forward with my writing. Where it will take me I don’t know right now, but I have hopes and dreams I will be pursuing using my blog as a stepping stone.

Things I Like

A grandmother, but young at heart, I love to explore new areas of creativity as I write for my blog, compose poems, dabble in my art journal, and even try a bit of weaving.

Another fun venture for me is Magnetic Poetry

I love photographing clouds, trees, flowers, really all kinds of things found in nature. Sometimes I overlay them with poetry or quotes.

Watching musicals, old and new, is something I enjoy.

I have enjoyed playing the piano since I was a child. My favorite thing is to take the hymnbook and play, arranging as I go depending on what I am feeling at the time. Playing for a church service inspires me most. When I hear the people sing, it really moves me and I let my fingers take over.

I am a follower of Jesus Christ. I praise Him, because He is the one who gives me strength to do what I do.

My goal in life is to demonstrate the existence and love of God through my words and actions. Therefore, I want to be the best wife, mother, grandmother, and friend that I can possibly be.

My purpose for the blog is to share what is on my heart at any given time. I hope to encourage, entertain and inspire others while bringing glory to God.
